The primary duties of the Retail Manager are to:

  • Foster a sales and quality culture within the retail store by focusing on the achievement of scorecard goals to include: revenue growth, sales, and Quality Standards. Ensure associates cross sell appropriate products and services during each customer transaction. Monitor and evaluate associate/member interactions and to ensure established office goals and objectives are achieved.

  • Under the guidance of the Retail District Manager, manage day-to-day operations of a retail store location(s) including service delivery, staff administration, facilities maintenance and appearance, purchasing, record keeping, retail product and merchandise management, administrative functions and other operational areas of the retail store. Through the use of attractive product displays, effectively market all company products and services. Ensure adherence to Federal and State laws/regulations; AAA Mid-Atlantic’s policies and procedures, and vendor requirements (ARC, IATAN, etc) and ensure security of all items in the retail store.

  • Manage the personnel functions of the office to include scheduling, recruitment and retention, coaching and training, motivation and communication. Work with appropriate business line leaders to ensure performance expectations are set for individuals, assess results, and coach for improvement. Develop and mentor less experienced staff providing guidance in coaching techniques, complaint resolution, and operations management. Professionally investigate customer complaints in a timely manner. Offer a customer friendly solution within the parameters set forth for the ROM position. Escalate customer issues to the Retail District Manager as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

  • Four (4) to six (6) years of business experience which includes at least two (2) – four (4) years of supervisory experience.

  • Proficient in the use of Internet technology for research including, but not limited to, Internet, Intranet and AICWEB. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products including Word and Excel.

  • Notary Public designation required (within six (6) months from date in position). Attainment of Membership and Travel Insurance License is required within six (6) months of job acceptance. Attainment of the Certified Travel Agent (CTA) professional travel designation will be required within one (1) year of acceptance of the position.
