Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Associate Marketing Director BD Diagnostic Systems Europe, you will be responsible for supporting the overall business objectives of BD Diagnostics by maintaining and developing market expert knowledge and developing - translating the business strategy related to Core Clinical into tactical programs for the country organizations, focusing on PPM.
About the position
As European Product Manager you will manage drivers of demand for assigned product lines such as pricing strategy, channel strategy, contracting and product mix and will furthermore ensure proper strategic execution in the countries on key media launches.
You’ll participate as a Marketing Core Team Member on cross-platform technical teams, delivering the marketing leadership and support needed to the relevant projects.
Responsibilities additionally include:
Proactively contributing to the elaboration of the European Diagnostic Systems Marketing Strategy and Tactics
Managing the PPM product portfolio and providing input for new product developments, interfacing with marketing
Collaborating with peers within Microbiology Systems and other aligned business units across the region
Provide Market data to the Manufacturing department based in Heidelberg for new product development and drive the marketing requirements into the R&D strategy
Production of and execution of product marketing plans for assigned products to ensure the achievement of financial expectations and product line strategies, including strategic launches on new media
Market sensing and feasibility with informed market data driven decision
Market development & Life cycle management
Marketing mix management as well as communication tactical plans
Budget and forecast development
You have an academic degree in Microbiology or a similar education, as well as a minimum of 3 years business experience in the life science industry. Furthermore you ideally have experience in identifying market opportunities, market segmentation, targeted marketing, competitive analysis, pricing strategy and go to market models and strategies. You have the capacity to lead and influence decisions of a project team and excellent proven planning skills combined with a high level of self-organization. You are fluent in English and preferably one or more European languages, such as French, Spanish, Italian or German. You show a strong ability to work in a multicultural environment and have up to 40% travel willingness.
