Quality Control Specialist
Praxair Distribution, Inc., a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc., a Fortune 300 company that supplies atmospheric, process, specialty gases, high-performance coatings, and related services & technologies is seeking a Quality Control Specialist for our location inTonawanda, NY.
The Quality Control Specialist isresponsible for the administration of the Praxair Distribution, Inc. POIS databases. This includes the implementation of PDI policies, procedures and product labeling to meet government compliance requirements for industrial, medical, food and specialty products.
TheQuality Control Specialist isaccountable for managing the labels for industrial, medical, food and specialty gas products and continuously working to improve quality processes and reduce cost through supplier management and control. TheQuality Control Specialist must have theability to work independently and to provide consultative advice within specific areas of expertise.
Quality Control Specialist
Mange the overall labeling database which includes, developing new labels, maintaining and updating existing labels and the development of Technical Operations Bulletins as necessary to update the plants and warehouses accordingly.
Support all locations with stocking and ordering requirements for all product labeling.
Manage Quality relationships with applicable suppliers. This position will interface extensively with other PDI locations, Praxair Quality, R&D, Safety, and Healthcare personnel.
Assist as applicable with the MasterControl database to manage user access and support non conformances, customer complaints, supplier control, and audit actions.
Manage the PDI lotus notes databases for all product labeling
Assist with the MasterControl Database in user management, developments, reviewing and as applicable approving procedures and other reports for PDI
Ensures labels are appropriately reviewed and approved for use and meet all internal and external requirements
Ensures labels meet external governmental requirements including the Compressed Gas Associations industry standards
Support the Quality Control and Systems Manager with database development and overall process improvement projects
Support the Executive Director, Quality, Product Safety and Regulatory Compliance with regulatory requirements
Act as labeling compliance program advisor to region level Quality Assurance leaders
Assist in investigation and management of Customer Complaints and Internal non conformances as applicable
Schedule periodic (typically quarterly) PDI Quality Staff meetings, take notes and follow up on action items.
Bachelor’s/Associates Degree in a Science/ Engineering or related technical field
Strong communication skills & organizational agility
Solid organizational skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and Lotus Notes database skillsets
Quality and or regulatory experience
